Becoming an Author with Sleuth
Authors with Sleuth own all the rights to their content displayed on our site. If your content does not comply with these guidelines it may be removed at any time. When content is approved for the Sleuth site, it will be promoted on the Sleuth Home page and on the Sleuth Newsletter as well as the blog. Authors are responsible for the content submitted and approved. This means authors assume all risks related to publication and display, including someone else’s reliance on its accuracy and any claims relating to intellectual property or other legal rights.

Sleuth Press's liability to you. Sleuth Press won’t be liable to you for any damages that arise from your use of, or in connection with, the Services and any content. This exclusion includes: (a) where the Services are hacked or unavailable, (b) all types of damages (direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary), whatever the type of claim or loss (breach of contract, tort (including negligence), breach of warranty, or any other claim or loss), (c) any lost profits, data or revenues, or (d) any conduct or content of other users or third parties on the Site or the Services. In no event shall Sleuth Press's liability for damages be in excess of (in the aggregate) fifty-thousand-naira (N50000.00).

Your liability to Sleuth. If you do something that gets us sued, or break any of the promises you make in these Terms of Service, you shall compensate us for any liabilities, losses, claims, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs) that arise from or relate to your use or misuse of the Services. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to this clause, in which case you agree that you’ll cooperate and help us in asserting any defenses.

Third-party websites. The Site and Services may contain links to other websites; for instance, stories, user profiles, and other posts may link to other sites. When you access third-party websites, you do so at your own risk. We don’t control or endorse those sites.

Sleuth Press further indemnifies themselves from all claims, demands, actions, suits, damages, liabilities, losses, settlements, judgments, costs, and expenses--inclusive of liability for death or personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation--incurred by freelance staff, agents, stockholders, and Affiliates.

In the event some of the terms of this agreement being held to be illegal or otherwise unenforceable, the remainder should still apply.

With regards to performance, our freelance staff shall perform their duties within the timeline provided on their service contracts. And Pursuant to the above provision if failed to do so, Sleuth Press indemnifies themselves from damages of an independent contractor. 

No party of this agreement shall wave their contractual rights. Amendments and alterations shall not be made by any party; Client, freelance staff, agents, affiliates, or otherwise unless mutually agreed. 

Here in provided, parties shall result to arbitration in resolution of any dispute that may arise herein. 

The conditions wherein this agreement may be terminated include; 
The conclusion of a service.
Closure of the website by a client. 
Deleting an account by a client. 

All disputes arising under this agreement shall be determined by Nigerian governing laws. 

Parties in breach shall be made to result in liquid damages not exceeding one-hundred-thousand naira only.

This disclaimer limits any of our or your liabilities in any way that is not permitted under the applicable law; or
exclude any of our or your liabilities that may not be excluded under applicable law.
The limitations and prohibitions of liability set in this disclaimer are inclusive of liabilities arising in contract, in tort, and for breach of statutory duty.

As long as the website and the information and services on the website are provided, we will not be liable for any loss or damage of any nature.
